Refrigora sells refrigerants and flushing solvents in pressurised, factory-sealed cylinders. These are regulated hazardous materials, so our returns process is stricter than a general retail policy. Please read this page before requesting a return.

1. Return window

You may request a return within 30 days of the delivery date. Requests made after 30 days cannot be accepted.

2. What we can accept

  • Cylinders that are unopened, factory sealed and unused, with the tamper-evident cap intact.
  • Product in its original packaging, with original labels, hazard placards and lot markings legible and undamaged.
  • Pallet orders returned complete and re-palletised as delivered.
  • A valid RMA number issued by us before the product is shipped back.

3. What we cannot accept

  • Opened, part-used or broken-seal cylinders. Once a cylinder is opened we cannot verify its contents or purity, and it cannot be resold.
  • Cylinders that have been connected to a system, charged, recovered into, or refilled.
  • Cylinders with damaged valves, missing caps, illegible labels, corrosion, or evidence of exposure to heat or fire.
  • Product that has been transferred into another container.
  • Special-order or non-stocked refrigerants, which are marked as such on the product page.
Safety: never attempt to vent, empty or depressurise a cylinder to make it returnable. Venting refrigerant to the atmosphere is prohibited under Section 608 of the Clean Air Act and carries federal penalties.

4. Restocking fee

Approved returns are subject to a 25% restocking fee, which covers hazmat inspection, re-certification of packaging and return handling. Original outbound shipping is not refunded.

The restocking fee is waived where the return is our fault — the wrong refrigerant was sent, the wrong quantity was shipped, or the product arrived damaged.

5. How to start a return

  1. Email sales@refrigora.com with your order number, the item and quantity, and the reason for the return.
  2. Include photographs of the cylinder showing the intact seal, the label and any damage.
  3. We will review the request and, if approved, issue an RMA number and return instructions within two business days.
  4. Mark the RMA number clearly on the outside of the package. Returns received without an RMA number will be refused.

6. Return shipping and hazmat compliance

Refrigerant cylinders are regulated under 49 CFR as hazardous materials (Class 2.2 non-flammable gas, or Class 2.1 for A2L products such as R-32, R-454B and R-1234yf). Returns must be shipped by a carrier authorised to carry hazardous materials, correctly packaged, labelled and documented by a person trained under DOT requirements.

  • Where the return is due to a change of mind, the customer arranges and pays for compliant return transport.
  • Where the return is due to our error or damage in transit, we arrange and pay for a compliant collection.

7. Damaged, short or incorrect shipments

Inspect your delivery before signing. Note any visible damage or shortage on the carrier’s delivery receipt, then contact us within 5 business days of delivery with your order number and photographs of the packaging, the pallet and the affected cylinders. Keep all packaging until the claim is resolved. We will replace or refund the affected items at no cost to you.

8. Refunds

Once a return is received and inspected, we will email you the outcome. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method, less any restocking fee, normally within 5–10 business days of inspection. Depending on your bank or card issuer it may take a further billing cycle to appear.

9. Cancellations

Orders can be cancelled at no charge any time before dispatch. Contact us as soon as possible — in-stock orders placed before 2pm on a business day usually ship the same day. Once a hazmat shipment has left our facility it is treated as a return under this policy.

10. Contact
